Budget

Re-evaluation of state spending and allocation of funds.

Gross production tax needs to increase, capital gains deductions are out of place and need to end, and income tax breaks for Oklahoma's top 15% need to end.

Those are a start, but I'd also like to see criminal justice reform. We spend an enormous amount of money convicting and imprisoning nonviolent offenders in privately run prisons with no incentive for rehabilitation.

Education

Educators and support staff deserve appropriate funding to create the best learning environment for our children. Not only do we need to more adequately pay our teachers, we need to fund the schools themselves, but I think one of the most important changes we need is basing school funding on more reliable and specifically earmarked revenue.

It's much too easy right now for school funding to be chopped and redirected to other recipients.

Gross production tax needs to increase, capital gains deductions are out of place and need to end, and income tax breaks for Oklahoma's top 15% need to end.

Those are a start, but criminal justice reform is a must. We spend an enormous amount of money convicting and imprisoning nonviolent offenders in privately run prisons with no incentive for rehabilitation.

We spend more on prisons than we do on schools.

Healthcare

Everyone deserves access to medical care regardless of income or status; this human right must be recognized by the state.

The current Rep. for District 68, Rep. Glen Mulready, is the primary author of HB2932. This bill introduces work requirements for those receiving Medicaid through the Oklahoma Healthcare Authority. We do not need to work toward LIMITING the care provided to our residents. Help me bring a voice of reason to the Oklahoma House.

Defunding necessary programs for low income Oklahomans is something that I have seen every day as a manager of a rural health clinic for nearly a decade. I know these people very well, and I see the struggle they experience when trying to decide whether or not to pay for potentially life saving medications or to keep a roof over their heads or put food on the table. I think the current House Representatives in the Capitol are out of touch with the people they're meant to represent.
